The Southwest Division-leading Spurs have won four in a row and will open a three-game road trip today against the Lakers, Jazz and Suns. They are 12-6 as the visitor this season and are coming off Friday's 94-91 victory over the New Jersey Nets at the AT&T Center.
Tim Duncan led the way for San Antonio with 30 points and 15 rebounds, while Tony Parker scored 17 points and Roger Mason added 14 for the Spurs, who have are 14-3 in their last 17 contests. Michael Finley added 11 points in the win.
The Lakers will continue a three-game homestand Sunday and opened the residency with a 117-97 victory over Washington on Thursday. Andrew Bynum ended with a game-high 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead Los Angeles, which has won three straight overall and improved to 22-3 in the City of Angels.
Kobe Bryant recorded a season-low 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting after being named a starter for the Western Conference All-Stars earlier Thursday. Pau Gasol chipped in 18 points and Lamar Odom netted 16 for the Lakers, who won for the seventh time in the last nine games overall.
LA will also host the Charlotte Bobcats on the homestand.
San Antonio defeated the Lakers, 112-111, on January 14 this season at the AT&T Center and has won four of the last six meetings. San Antonio has also won six of its last nine as the guest in this series
